Moro Poro! ๐ซ๐ฎ
Hi everyone!! I've read so many of my friends' missionary PDay emails so it's so surreal to me that it's my turn now. So I've officially been a missionary (at home) for 4 days and I'm gonna be honest it already has its challenges. There are so many things I miss, and being on zoom calls for like 8 hours of my day is a bit draining, nevertheless the spirit has been so strong and I know Heavenly Father is strengthening me during this time and is aware of me. And I'm super excited for this opportunity, and special time in my life that I can dedicate to the Lord. To find those I can teach and share the joy of Christ with while I'm in this role, with power and authority to do it from God !
For these first few days we've been talking a lot about what it means to be a missionary and things we can do to prepare. And of course, I met my district and companion, who I'll be spending lots of time with while I'll be in the MTC. And my teachers I'll have in the MTC. They all seem like really great people and I'm really excited to see them in person, it's just a little harder for me to get to know people online....BUT it's all good and I'm glad we can get to know each other a little before the MTC! And my comp is awesome!! (Shoutout Sisar Luke)
AND we started learning some Finnish !! Moro poro (the title of this email) is apparently a phrase that a place in Finland uses between the members and missionaries, which literally means "hello reindeer" but is used as "sup dawg" haha. And it's good practice for people who can't roll their R's??
I wish I had more to tell you guys about but it's still really early haha. I hope everyone is doing alright, feel free to email me! My PDays will be on Wednesday while I'm in the MTC. (which is until about April 30th) I would love it so much to hear from you guys!! (Please please please)
And I'll end with a spiritual thought because I miss being able to send them to some of you guys everyday ๐
I opened to Moroni 10 (the last chapter of the book) randomly last night during my new habit of reading a chapter of the Book of Mormon before bed and I want to share this verse:
Moroni 10:7 And ye may know that he is, by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore I would exhort you that ye deny not the power of God; for he worketh by power according to the faith of the children of men, the same today and tomorrow, and forever.
God is aware of you. He sees you and He loves you more than you know. Trust in His plan for you, He's your loving Father in Heaven and only He knows what's best for you. He knows where you can find real and lasting joy, through Jesus Christ. How can you make Christ more central in your life today? What ideas is the spirit whispering to you? When we show God we have a desire to trust in Him, and act on the faith that we have and the things we already know we should be doing, he can work real miracles in our life.
