Hän ylösnoussut! (He is Risen!) 🫶
So I can officially say that I'll be in Europe NEXT WEEK?! I'm actually so excited to head out, even though I already know I'm gonna miss my district like crazy-
Anyways like I briefly mentioned in my email last week it's my SYL week which just means I wear (P K = Puhu Kieltäsi....Speak Your Language) on my tag and I try to only speak my language unless it's absolutely necessary not to. Although I can still talk to people, I'm just encouraged to try first in Finnish. Which is great because by holding myself accountable this week and speaking as much as possible, I'll be more prepared for Finland :) It's definitely been tough at times but it's seriously good practice!
As usual I'll get into updates, a spiritual thought, and other fun noteworthy things that happened. Other than that, I hope everyone had an amazing Easter celebrating our Savior and His victory over death which gives us victory over all that ails us 💗
Updates:
🤍 Got to watch the Lamb of God performance which is like the story of Jesus's last week through narration and singing and it was SO powerful and spiritual. It was also so cool because the composer decided he didn't want someone to sing for Jesus and made His voice a cello, so when you hear the cello it's just so magical
🤍 Dale G Renlund!!! I got to sit front row at the Easter devotional this Sunday and Dale G Renlund and his wife came! (I can now say I've made eye contact with an apostle?!)
🤍 Also had a musical devotional with Vocal Point and Noteworthy which are two super talented acapella groups. And they also took turns bearing their testimonies which were all so beautiful (and they're pretty funny people too, definitely had some laughs)
🤍 Europe Training Meeting this week and they gave a shoutout to Finland! (They shoutout a different country every week)
🤍 We had our last class with Sisar Anderson yesterday, which is definitely sad I love her, but she's getting married this week and I'm so excited for her! And we had a super nice last class, we painted pictures to share with people in Finland and I drew one of my favorite pictures of Jesus :)
🤍 Tuesday Devo! As y'all know I always love the Tuesday Devotionals and this week is no exception, it was incredible. Elder Raymond Egbo and Sisar Egbo did a fantastic job
Spiritual Thought:
🇫🇮 Ensimmäinen Kirje Korinttilaisil 15:57
"Mutta kiitos Jumalalle, joka antaa meille voiton meidän Herramme Jeesuksen Kristuksen kautta!"
🇺🇲 1 Corinthians 15:57
(Except I'm just gonna translate the Finnish) "But thanks to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!"
Elder Egbo quoted 1 Cor 15:55 and on and this verse in particular stuck out to me because-amen. I couldn't say it any better, God must really love us because He gave us Jesus Christ who really does give us the victory in every way! Death isn't the end, we never have to suffer in our trials alone because He knows exactly how we feel-when no one else does we know He does, because of Him we know hardships are temporary! I want to invite yall to make your own sentence...Because of Him_____________. I'd love to hear yalls thoughts if you want to share but whether you share with me or not, I would encourage yall to do this and ponder on your relationship with your Savior because He loves you so much and has given you so much.
Shoutouts:
💙 I HAD REAL PULLA THIS WEEK?! Shoutout Vanhin White's dad who made us tons of pulla and pulla cinnamon rolls-I NEED to learn how to make it-it's SO good y'all don't even know (but don't worry cuz I'm gonna go get a million recipes and make it when I get home)
💙 Easter egg hunt with the district! We had a little Easter egg hunt on Easter which was neat because it was like a taste of home and normality and fun of course haha
