Welcome back welcome back! First off, I'll explain the title because I know how it can be looking at them foreign words but basically this literally means my thoughts went into the forest BUT it's also a way to say "I lost my train of thought" and I thought that was really goofy. But Finland does have a lot of forest areas so maybe it makes sense...

🇺🇲spiritual message

1 Peter 1:3

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,"

Well it's about that time in Finland where it's dark, rainy, cold, etc actually they call November "Marraskuu" or dead month...WHICH is why, when I found this verse, I took it as such a gem. I am so grateful for a reason to have "lively hope" that can only be found in Jesus Christ. And it really does show how loving our Father in Heaven is. He allowed His son to suffer quite literally the worst pain possible just so we never have to feel that way. I know we have access to a life filled with hope when things are looking-well hopeless-when we invite Jesus Christ in. Honestly it's still hard for me to comprehend, but I have a strong testimony that there is always a bright side to our darkest days because of our light, Jesus Christ. You never walk alone!

💫 In Finland they do a really wonderful thing a couple times a year where they put candles on gravestones to remember their family members who have passed away. They just recently had one of these days and from the glance I had from a bus it looked so nice to see the graveyard filled with people, looking all warm and lit up with the candles!

💫 This week we had a sacrament meeting (fast and testimony meeting) completely in English, mostly for our friends who can understand English more than Finnish. But wow it was a neat experience to have a Sunday meeting in English again and ALSO have the opportunity to bear my testimony in my native language again!

💫 So I'm in a city called Turku now, as I mentioned in my last email, and it's not too far away from my first area: Rauma. The reason I bring this up is because I've met members here who already know me?! Solely because a member in Rauma had talked about me with them! I LOVE RAUMA!

💫 God is a God of miracles. We went from having basically 0 friends to 4 in a couple days-

💫 (This about 1 of the 4 friends I mentioned) we met them for the first time yesterday and explained what the Book of Mormon was and even read some together. And at the end of it he said he was already able to feel the peace we described we always feel when we read from it !!

💫 If I'm being completely honest, there's a lot I miss about my last area. I had just become really good friends with the members, I knew my way around, I expected to stay, etc. I just felt very settled and comfortable there BUT I'm coming to realize more and more that God always has a bigger and better plan in mind for us than we do for ourselves

💫 Totally random and unrelated but I bought myself a really cute stuffed animal this week. A white and pink weighted cow I have yet to name...
