"Olet hassu" "Olenko?" "Olet" 😽

First of all SORRY for the lack of email last week pdays are crazy over here BUT the rumors are true, I am training and my "daughter" is amazing, a swag baby if you will. She's so motivated to learn, kind, and brings a fun energy to everyday. Basically, "this is a good thing." Which is something I cannot stop saying for some reason.

In other news, it's been so cool to see how much I've grown as a missionary and in my finnish ability as I am in this role of trainer- actually, up to this point I'd only ever had older companions! So it's been super different and fun. I've been finding so much happiness in helping someone else to be successful. Kinda feels like a glimpse of actual parenthood haha it's been awesome.

My last bit of news is that I watched my own trainers homecoming this week which was super surreal. I love her, and I wish her all the best🫶

NOW let's get into a spiritual thought then some updates:

Choices For Eternity --> President Nelson

"God knows all and sees all. In all of eternity, no one will ever know you or care about you more than He does. No one will ever be closer to you than He is. You can pour out your heart to Him and trust Him to send the Holy Ghost and angels to care for you. He demonstrated His ultimate love when He sent His Only Begotten Son to die for you—to be your Savior and your Redeemer!"

I really love this sweet reminder, God is first and foremost our Father! How cool is it that out of the many names He could have chosen to be called He chooses "Heavenly Father". He wants us to always remember who we are in His eyes, and that is His beloved spirit children, who He does everything for. Please don't forget you are a beloved child of God, with a divine potential and an eternal destiny!! He loves you more than you can comprehend and His commandments and covenants are because He wants us to have true joy that comes from living a life with Him and focused on Jesus Christ.

❄️ MIRACLE TIME: okay so Sister Israelsen took 10 steps out of our apartment (after a lovely prayer to start our finding block given by a member we were talking to on the phone) when we stopped this lady. Who, turns out is an English teacher had talked to missionaries before many years prior?! And she offered us to come and do some cool service talking with her students in our "American english" haha. Super cool opportunity, and certainly a noncoincidence moment given from God!

❄️ T! (I was going back and rereading some of emails to yall and was reminded of when I would put the first letters of peoples name so I'm gonna bring it back...I can't use their real names or anything because of privacy laws) So we met with a refferal for the first time and it was such a lovely experience. I really felt the spirit in the room with us when we testified of Jesus Christ and our first covenant with God being made at baptism :)

❄️ This one goes out as a shoutout to the awesome members in Turku. Basically, this week we started telling the members we wanted to come over and practice teaching these lessons in finnish so we can be better prepared for our friends...And it was so wonderful, we were invited to come and practice with so many members this week! Kiitos kaikille🙏

❄️ (TITILE) This was just a really sweet moment, but we were over at a members house on Sunday and I was just talking with a joking with their young daughter when she says "Olet hassu." *You're funny* So I responded with, "Olenko?" *I am?* And she says, "Olet" *You are* GAH it was so adorable. And speaking finnish with little kids is so much fun haha

❄️ This was a huge highlight this week, BUT I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar. I heavily considered buying one before my mission, although that would've been a little silly considering I wouldn't have been able to bring it HOWEVER I asked our bestie member friend JJ if he had a spare guitar and HE ACTUALLY DID! (Fun thing, it's actually a guitalele so like a mini guitar, quite adorable) But that's been so fun and my comp plays the ukulele so we've been singing to members...slowly for now because I've quite literally been playing a week haha
